The EKS company was founded in Smålandsstenar in southern Sweden in 1945 by Carl-Gustav Ek, with the manufacture of metal buttons and ashtrays. At the beginning of the 1960’s EKS started production of mechanical bathroom and kitchen scales and during the following 20 years the company developed into a multinational concern with sales worldwide. A distribution and production site in Europe became a priority and the factory in Wittisheim in north-eastern France was acquired.
In 2001 EKS INTERNATIONAL became part of the Beaver group. This move strengthened and supported the European enterprise. A tradition for superior quality products has long been established and today this approach is maintained by our advanced development and research departments.
Today EKS is placed both geographically and strategically in central Europe. The office headquarters are located in Wittisheim, for sales and distribution in England, Sweden and Hong Kong.
